Top 5 Rustic Fall Wedding Color Combos Ideas

Here we finally enter the official month of fall!

So we all know that rustic weddings are huge right now and while some critics believe the look is dead and buried other creative folk are reinventing the look with some refreshing new color palettes that take the look to a whole new level. With a splash of imagination and flare we’re certain that you’ll find a palette perfect for your new rustic look. Here are some of our suggestions to help lead you in the right direction.

rustic fall wedding photography 2014

Cranberry & Gray Blue
These two colors work splendid together because of the obvious contrast in hues. Wintery grey blues are gorgeous for winter, but team them up with a warm cranberry and you’ve got a lush palette for autumn too. Our top tip for using these colors is a bridesmaid in grey with a gorgeous pop of cranberry red flower bouquets.

Shades of Apricot
Fresh juicy shades of apricot are one of the hottest looks for any rustic wedding right now! This color theme works perfectly for late summer and early autumn venues. Select original orangey apricots and vintage rust apricot with a muted barely there pinky apricot and a few shades darker to really work the look. As we all know orange and green are opposites on the color spectrum and work beautifully together, opt for a natural sage green, which you should find easily in your outdoor rustic wedding venue.

Burlap & Coral
Burlap is making a mega comeback and is very much the fabric to be had at the moment! Mix coral and pinky blush colors with burlap and wham, you’ve got yourself a stunning color palette that will be difficult to beat! Don’t be afraid to experiment with watered down tones of color and keep the actual burlap to a minimum by replacing it with a similar color in other mediums.

Steel Blue & Gray
An unexpected color combo for rustic venues but we guarantee that with a little splash of granite grey and a large wooden oak table, you’re heart will be pounding and your creative juices will be running wild. These colors are perfect for winter seasons and with that dash of grey, the earthy tones make this palette a winner for autumn too.

Bronze & Chocolate
An obvious choice for rustic weddings, but we’ve found some new exciting and refreshing looks that will make you eager to experiment with. These warm rich earthy colors are great winter warmers and will work beautifully with a rustic style wedding. Get glammed up with a formal vintage take on rustic and don’t be afraid to DIY with some gold leaf to achieve the look you want.

So ladies what’s your verdict? Is the look unrevivable or are these new palettes a must? We’d love to hear your thoughts.

Neon Bright Weddings: Color Wedding Inspiration

Since the summer days are sliding by, here today we’d like to post the last summer wedding idea we love–neon bright weddings.

The best part about neon is that you can choose to use small amounts or go the full haul and splash it everywhere; both ways work beautifully! Try decorating the top of your yummy wedding cake with a bright layer of icing sugar to a plain white cake. Or perhaps mix and match a variety of neon oranges, yellows, pinks, blues and lime greens to your summer seating plan.

Throw the Perfect Bridal Shower with Inspirational Ideas for Every Bride

A wedding wouldn’t quite be the same without all the preparations beforehand, such as the hen and stag parties and of course a suitable bridal shower to see the bride on her merry way. The custom originated in the 1890s and has continued to be popular in many countries all over the world. Traditions and ideas have changed over time but the same principles remain in place. The bride will be showered in lavish gifts and the event itself is to be enjoyed by everyone involved. There are so many ways to celebrate a bridal shower you just need a little inspiration from us and a touch of organization in place to make sure you get the best out of your bridal shower.

The Invitations

Make sure you impress the bride with stunning invitations; this is not an area to relax on. Details can be pretty simple and straight to the point, it’s also a way to get information on where the bride and groom have registered for gifts, that way this embarrassing duty can be lifted from the bride.

There is an endless list of games you can play, but the idea is to keep the fun alive and not allow things to become too serious. Keep games light hearted and non competitive, the last problem you need before the wedding is a fight between close friends. Eek!

Areas to consider

To make sure you get the look just right, make sure you don’t forget these all important finishing touches to the wedding:

– Keep colours neutral with just a small pop of bright colour

– Don’t be afraid to DIY! The results will be impressive and something you can boast about afterwards.

– Keep fabrics flowy and casual.

– Collect cheap or free old-fashioned tableware from charity shops or your grandma.

– Consider the venue and how you can incorporate all your vintage finds into the event.

– Don’t worry about been too particular or too formal, we love rough unfinished edges.

– Last but not least, don’t forget to enjoy the day, it’s all about relaxing and not getting hung up about the little things.

Create the Perfect Fairytale Wedding

Inspired by the Kimye wedding recently? One thing it has done is got us thinking about creating a fairytale wedding fit for any Kardashian! It’s basically about taking all your childhood dreams and making them into reality, such as making sure you wear that all-important dress, however you may have envisioned when you were a little girl! Or that beautiful floral headband with loose curls falling from your face. Whatever you dreamt, however minor the detail; make sure you don’t miss the opportunity to make the most of your time and your big day. Of course consult the groom too; but we’re pretty sure he’ll be happy to go along with you and do whatever it takes to make you happy. Besides he probably dreamt about being Prince Charming once or twice and isn’t that what Prince Charming does…makes his bride to be exceptionally happy!

The Invitations

If you want a royal event, then it’s only fitting that you have some out of this world invitations made. It will really set the whole theme alive and get guests reeling about what the actual wedding is going to be like. Make sure guests are excited about your event, rather than it being another weekend wasted. Also try leaving a few surprises for the big day and don’t give the full theme away! Here are some that seek our approval.

The Venue

No expense or detail should be spared for this part. Every inch of the table needs to be covered in a mix of candles, flowers, random vases, beautiful linen and whatever else you can get your hands on. Remember that It doesn’t need to cost you the earth and try to pick some bits and pieces up from your local thrift shop.

Trends to focus on from the UK Glamour Awards for Summer 2014

We have seen a gorgeous march of hot dresses from some of our favourite celebrities. The styles we saw were rather surprising and very unique for this time of year. However we love the results and we’re pretty sure that you guys will feel just the same as we do.

The biggest trend by far this year was black; short, long, simple and full of detail, it didn’t matter how it was styled and designed, what mattered the most was its colour. Quite a surprising choice considering we’ve just stepped into summer, we usually see a range of lemons, pastel colours and bright greens, but this year black took centre stage.

Details to watch out for: Elegant ruffles, tulip skirt shapes, a mix of fabrics to give texture and delicate straps.

Paloma Faith in back dress with shoulder detailing

Floral Patterning

Trust Ferne Cotton to hit two of the biggest trends in her black gown decorated with a pretty embroidered rose design. We loved the other floral patterns worn last night, they were so fresh and delicate; a total new turn on florals this season. We were rather excited when we saw Alesha Dixon step out in her stunning pastel dress with black posies and Jenna Coleman also wowed in her faded black and white design.

Another surprising trend was the continuing theme of metallics, they have been seen everywhere this year, but we didn’t expect them to be so huge right now. Black and gold and platinum silver were our favourite looks, especially the cute little column dresses to show off those tanned pins. Gemma Chan really stole the metallics show in her black and gold shift dress.

Colour Block

One of our favourite styles was Emma Willis in her abstract colour block dress. We love how this bold style is mixed with a very elegant fifties tea dress and the black waist band that cleverly highlights her hair colour, ensuring the colours don’t wash her complexion out.
